Happy Friday!

As promised from our last newsletter, we have an announcement to make:

Vina’s Tiny House is moving! After three years of living on a magical property in Ojai, we’re sad to announce that we (my husband and I) will be relocating. The owners have decided to sell the property, so we will be moving very soon.

Finding property to rent has been challenging. The legalities of tiny houses are not yet in place, and real estate prices are at a premium in Ojai. Now more than ever, the path towards legalization is more critical. Thankfully lots of progress is being made, on a local and national level. Stay tuned for upcoming newsletters, or stay connected on our Facebook page HERE and HERE.

Thankfully, with a lot of patience and diligence, we found a nice place to rent in Ojai. It’s on a hillside property with a private residence. One of the biggest perks: washer & dryer means no more treks to the laundromats… It’s the simple things 🙂

In the near future, we hope to purchase property to start a tiny house community, maybe even this year! With a totally new environment and new surroundings, I’m excited to see what the rest of the year brings.

Out with the old – In with the new!

Cheers to new beginnings,

Vina

Vina Lustado at Yale University | April 6, 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. | New Haven, CT

When I asked why I was invited to do a presentation at Yale University, I was heartened to learn they were interested in hearing from ethnically diverse social entrepreneurs, more than they were interested in white men who had successful businesses (no offense). They especially wanted to hear from women of diversity… Wow, I was impressed, and deeply humbled.

You are invited to join us for this presentation at Yale University. I will discuss my journey from childhood in the Philippines to finding my company Sol Haus Design, to designing and building my tiny house. As part of the presentation, I will be showing a short video produced by Christopher Carson Smith (filmmaker of Tiny: A Story of Living Small). If you’re in the area, I would love to see you!

WHEN: Thursday April 6, 2017 | 11:45am – 12:45pm
WHERE: Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut
This event is a lunch presentation and is open to the public. DETAILS HERE
